I spoke with the IT person at my school this week, trying to get access to blogging for my students. You would have thought I asked for a laptop for each of my students. How are we supposed to move forward and keep 21st century students motivate if we are still teaching with antiquated equipment and methods??? Frustrated : (
Score: Old School-1 Technology -0
This only the first round, and I hate to lose : )
Judy,
ReplyDeleteI like that you are including visuals in your posts! i still have not gotten to that stage of the game!
J.Behling,
ReplyDeleteThe nation needs a compelling vision for education that will inspire education leaders, teachers, parents and students alike. Clearly, we must work together to fully prepare people for the challenges of work and life in the 21st century. We recognize that we are calling on schools to change dramatically even as they face difficult economic challenges and a vigorous discussion of student achievement and assessments. However, while current budget constraints eventually will subside, the long term need for 21st century learning will not: Accelerating technological change, rapidly accumulating knowledge, increasing global competition and rising workforce capabilities around the world make 21st century skills essential. Our work emphasizes learning — not simply what students are learning, but how they are learning as well. Our vision is not a daunting list of “add-ons” to educators’ already full job responsibilities. It can happen, it is possible.
